Peppermint Mocha Syrup for Coffee + More!
I have never been one who relies on coffee to get through my day, but I reach for it when I need a pick-me-up or for seasonal flavors that I just can't resist. I make my best efforts to support local in anyway I can, but Starbucks has mastered the Peppermint Mocha drinks so well I have a hard time saying no. For the sake of money-saving + gift-giving, I wanted to try my hand at a replica syrup for at home coffee making (or hot cocoa seasoning!). This looks dreamy bottled up in our apothecary bottles, and the pourer is extra convenient for mess free use.
Lemon Verbena Hot Toddy
Lemon Verbena is one of my favorite herbs but I see it more often in candles + soaps than I do food. When Runamok launched Lemon Verbena Honey, I couldn't wait to get a taste. It brings gentle lemon-y flavor without introducing any acid or sour notes. Sore throat or cold day, this drink is the cure.
Maple Ginger Mule
We are always so excited to see what Runamok is coming up with. First the delicious infused maple syrups, then the Maple Old Fashioned Syrup, and now a Maple Ginger Mule?! This is a delicious addition to your holiday parties, a quick pour + top with club soda makes you a balanced cocktail, perfect for cheers-ing all season long.
Spiked Mulled Cider
Our Mulling Party! recipe kit is delicious anytime of year, but incredibly popular in these colder months. We truly can't keep it on the shelves, and love playing with new ways to use it. Last year we mulled wine, and used the remainder to poach pears for a galette. This time, we're simply mulling cider + adding bourbon for the grownups. I'd highly recommend welcoming your guests with a warm mug of this over the holidays!
Masala Chai Tea
Based on Cari Karonis’ at home recipe for chai, we can't get enough of this warming spice blend. Cari is a founder of SKORDO and coffee enthusiast. She’s been making a version of the blend for years and the decision to add it to our collection was a long time coming. This aromatic, spicy Masala Chai Spice Blend will warm not only your body but your soul too.
Moon Drink
I prepared this as a supplement for my family while they waited for Stewed Pork to cook from Everyone's Table. I could only find ashwagandha in capsule form, so I opt'd out of using it here. Turmeric is a spice superhero and provides too many benefits to count, so the drink is still very immune boosting. It was certainly a hit, served either warm or cold.
Clove + Ginger Lemonade Elixer
This recipe from Upgrade Your Immunity by Dr. Joseph Mercola is meant to be sipped early in the morning, on an empty stomach, to stimulate digestion and begin some detoxification. Plus, the cinnamon will regulate your blood sugar. It was a nice jumpstart to the morning!
Mushroom Latte
A fun variation from a morning coffee, this mushroom latte from Upgrade your Immunity by Dr. Joseph Mercola is a great way to introduce the immune boosting effects of mushrooms without having to cook them into a meal.
Spiced Pineapple Daiquiri
We’ve enlisted the assistance of local mixologist Josh Lemay, current bar manager of Baharat in East Bayside to provide inspiration on how to utilize SKORDO's It's Five O'Clock Somewhere set. Here he made a pineapple syrup using green cardamom pods, allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, whole star anise, and clove. This got turned into a Spiced Pineapple Daiquiri that will hit the spot any time of year.
