What a fun cocktail for camping! We love the use of Vanilla Bean Sea Salt to amp up the flavor with zero added effort. From one of our most popular summer cookbooks, author Emily Vikre has won us over with this one.

"Grapefruit juice, in spite of its bitter edge, is surprisingly friendly with a lot of different spirits. If you use vodka in this (and leave off the salt) you'll have a Greyhound. With gin, it's a Salty Dog. Aquavit, a caraway flavored Scandanavian spirit, makes the drink dance with a tango of sweet and savory, salty and sour. I've dubbed it the Great Dane because not only is Denmark one of the world's largest producers of aquavit, but the Danes are also renowned for their brunches, which can last upwards of seven hours." - Emily Vikre, Camp Cocktails
