I'm a big fan of tea cakes. They're quick to make, great to snack on and handy to have when friends pop over for a visit. Plus, they're an excuse for a quick mid-week bake! This one is fall inspired and pairs perfectly with Builder's Tea. In a pinch coffee will do, but there's nothing better than strong black tea (we recommend PG tips) and a slice of this spicy, sweet treat.

This is my Mom’s recipe for Dolmathes or Greek stuffed cabbage leaves.  I fondly remember the aroma of these filling our house, ensuring no-one was ever late to dinner when they were on the menu!  These Dolmathes are much larger and heartier than classic stuffed grape leaves and are a perfect family comfort food meal.  Make sure you have a loaf of rustic bread for dipping, so no juices go to waste!

This is our favorite summer side dish. The colorful grilled vegetables tossed in the luscious acidic Pinot Noir dressing with herbs and garlic make a wonderful combination. Make this into a summer bruschetta appetizer by cutting the vegetables into a large dice and serving on toasted sourdough with smeared ricotta cheese.

We love this simple preparation of delicious, flavorful garlic bread using SKORDO Tuscan Oil Blend. Crusty Italian bread, parmesan cheese, garlic, butter and the flavors of Tuscany... What's not to love? This entire recipe can be tweaked depending on your preferences (i.e. more or less garlic, more or less cheese)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • 3 Tablespoons melted butter (or EVOO)
  • 3 Tablespoons smashed garlic 
  • 4 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons SKORDO Tuscan Oil Blend

PREPARATION:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Slice your bread in half horizontally, as if you were going to use it to make a large sandwich. 
  • Place your 2 pieces of bread (top and bottom) with the crust side down.
  • Spread half of the butter or oil on each side. Sprinkle half the parmesan cheese on each side. Continue with each ingredient, sprinkling half on each bread piece.
  • Put the loaf back together so your two seasoned sides are touching. Wrap entirely in foil.
  • Place in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes, until the center is melted. Slice and enjoy!
