Buckwheat, Carrot, Parsnip and Leek Salad with Tahini Poppy Dressing

Buckwheat, Carrot, Parsnip and Leek Salad with Tahini Poppy Dressing

It’s always a running joke in my family that if I am at the dinner table the amount of veggies need to be doubled.  Needless to say I was super excited when my sister and SKORDO co-founder Annie showed me that Sister Pie had a whole section on salads!  This Buckwheat, carrot, parsnip and leek salad was no disappointment!
Maple Orange Caramel Popcorn-SKORDO

Maple Orange Caramel Popcorn

This is the perfect family treat after a day in the snow! The maple and orange flavors add a fun pop of flavor.
French Dip Sandwiches-SKORDO

French Dip Sandwiches

On beautifully basic sandwiches like the french dip- Prime Rib Rub is all you need! Our Prime Rib Rub is s+p based, with a touch of onion, garlic, some thyme, and a smidge of white pepper--ideal for letting the beef be the spotlight. The "dip" in French Dip Sandwiches is equally as important as the beef. I'm sure you've heard "Au Jus" before, it translates to "with the juices". While I didn't technically fortify the stock, I did amplify the flavor a bit with extra onion, garlic, rosemary + butter of course. Enjoy!
Adobo Cheese Dip-SKORDO

Adobo Cheese Dip

I never know who's playing, but I always know I will be making fresh pretzels. They only take a few hours, can be prepped in advance, and are perfect for dunking in this warm cheesy goodness. Our Adobo Seasoning is Salt, Sweet Paprika, Onion, Black Pepper, Cumin, Garlic, Chile Powder, Mexican Oregano -- AKA the perfect seasoning to add a flavorful kick to this dip. Using arrowroot to thicken, you have the freedom to use any milk or milk alternative you'd like and you're keeping it gluten-free (sans the pretzels of course!)

Tea Party!

Between dry January and a frigid winter, I have been reaching towards a mug of tea at least two times a day. While we rarely carry teas in the shops, we do always have our collection of herbs + spices that can be quickly steeped into a flavorful tea. Whether you enjoy these recipes as is, or use them to upgrade a basic black tea, they're certain to warm you up.
Infused Sugar Scones-SKORDO

Infused Sugar Scones

Is there anything better than fresh out of the oven scones? This recipe is a great base dough that allows for endless personalization. I made a quick batch last night and am looking forward to baking a set with different flavors on Sunday.
Rosemary Deviled Eggs

Rosemary Deviled Eggs

I love deviled eggs. order them whenever I see them on a restaurant menu. Invite me to a potluck and I'm probably bringing deviled eggs. I recently came across this recipe in Eating Well Magazine and when I saw it was written by Lior Lev Sercarz (Author of Mastering Spice and Spice Companion), I knew it'd be a good one. Not only were they good, these are easily the best deviled eggs I've ever had. Just try them - you won't regret it!
Winter Salad with Balsamic Dressing

Winter Salad with Balsamic Dressing

In my opinion, salads are only as good as their dressing. Texture falls very close behind, so let's chat there first. Knowing that this is a balsamic base, I'm expecting a little sweetness to balance the sourness. To cater to this, I added maple syrup to the dressing and carried that flavor over to the toppings by way of SKORDO Sugar Hut Pepper. What loves Sugar Hut Pepper? Sweet Potatoes. What loves Sweet Potatoes? Brussel Sprouts. I played this game around the produce aisle until I felt ready to salad because I am not a salad girl and need to carry some excitement through the whole experience haha. However, this is a very adaptable salad and could absolutely be a quick way to elevate some leftovers.

Lemon Turmeric Lentil Soup-SKORDO

Greek Lemon Turmeric Lentil Soup

Having the time to chop the veggies and toast the spices and taste the soup change + develop as you go is a luxury that makes cooking dinner feel like a date with yourself, and there's nothing more wholesome than that. This soup, like any good soup, feels like a warm hug.

Smoked Bourbon Barrel Aged Sea Salt Caramels-SKORDO

Smoked Bourbon Barrel Aged Sea Salt Caramels

Chewy, Salty, Sweet, Smoky...sign me up! These caramel candies are a perfect little treat. SKORDO Bourbon Barrel Aged Sea Salt is a fan favorite, no surprise with its gorgeous flake + captivating smoky flavor. Utilizing the salt as a garnish allows the flake to be highlighted and the sweetness of the caramels to be balanced by an initial salty crunch. A candy thermometer is key here, but you'll learn to see visual cues if you make them often! A quick wrap in wax paper turn these into authentic-looking + adorable handmade gifts!

Maple Salmon Rub Granola-SKORDO

Savory Maple Granola

Created as part of our Edible Gift Guide- this granola is a fun way to challenge the suggestions on the jars, and enjoy your favorite blends any time of day. I've said it 600 times + I'll continue to find joy in saying it--there is NO salmon in the SKORDO Maple Salmon Rub.
