Raw cashews and walnuts are two of my staple pantry ingredients and I recently found a new favorite use for them. Syrian Za'atar roasted nuts are a little bit sweet, a little bit salty, and pack just enough of a kick to keep you coming back for more. The roasted nuts keep for weeks and are quick to make - two of my favorite things when it comes to homemade snacks!

These nuts are great added to a charcuterie board or sprinkled on ice cream as a simple dessert.

PREPARATION

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine maple syrup, soy sauce, sesame seed oil in a large bowl. Add the Syrian Za’atar and Crushed Morita Flakes and stir. Fold in the walnuts, cashews and sesame seeds. Spread the coated nuts on a large baking sheet and toast for 15 - 20 minutes, checking every 5 minutes. Once toasted, remove nuts from the oven and scrape to free them from the pan. Let them cool in the pan, continuing to scrape or shake the pan every few minutes to avoid clumping.
