Mushroom Soup with Merlot Pairing Salt Blend

- 4 tablespoon butter, plus more for garnish
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 12 ounces cremini or button mushroom
- 1 tablespoon Merlot Pairing Salt Blend, plus more for garnish
- 1 quart water or stock
In a large sauce pot over medium heat, melt butter and saute onion and garlic until soft.
Add mushrooms and salt. Toss to combine. Add liquid and simmer for 20 min. Transfer to a blender and puree until smooth. Garnish with additional Merlot Pairing Salt Blend and a small swirl of butter.
