When we turn the corner from sweet, late summer days into cool, fall evenings in September, here at SKORDO we start looking to the comforting and warm flavors that come with it. We begin moving our entertaining of friends and family into the comfort of our homes and share meals and memories around a cozy table.
Members of our team gathered for a dinner to celebrate the beginning of our fall season. We each made a dish or two to share, using SKORDO flavors that represent fall to each of us. A few looked inward and got creative in their own kitchens, while some of us looked to our community and cookbooks for inspiration, pulling together a spread fit for any fall celebration!
Anne and Abby prepared our first bites: a stunning Asparagus Goat Cheese Tart highlighting our new French Tarragon Herb Blend and Sweet Potato + Mushroom Hand Pies, using our SKORDO Steak Seasoning to deepen the flavor.
Our best seller, Maple Salmon Rub, topped a beautiful and classic Broiled Maple Salmon Fillet. The North Woods Steak Salt added a boost to a Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Caramelized Onions, Goat Cheese and Bacon that was a crowd pleaser!
Becky and Jimmy presented our side dishes: Crispy Cajun Smashed Potatoes using our Cajun Blackening Seasoning to bring a little heat, and Roasted Vegetables with Quinoa and a Yogurt-Tahini Sauce, which brought color to the table along with the tasty combination of our 207 Seasoned Salt and Garlic Pepper.
And last, but never deserving of least, were desserts! Kayla found a way to bring all the savory and warm Middle Eastern flavors of our Shawarma Spice Blend into a decedent Shawarma Cheesecake with Spiced Maple Pecan Topping. It was her first time making a cheesecake, she says if she can do it, you can too! Jimmy got experimental with our Mexican Hot Cocoa Recipe Kit and turned it in to a Mexican Hot Cocoa Gelato , a gelato flavor that fits any season!
We hope you take inspiration from our dinner menu into your next gathering or meal planning, whether it be in its entirety or a dish here and there. Happy cooking!
