We love looking to Go Portsmouth to keep us in the loop on what’s happening around the city! See their calendar here.
The third Thursday of every month is Local Love from 5-8 p.m., an event supporting shopping local in downtown Portsmouth! It’s a great time to show up for all of the small businesses in town. Check them out on Instagram at @localloveportsmouth!
If you’re in the mood for more shopping, the shops on Commercial Alley are a great place to start. The charm of this walking street adds to our love of Portsmouth (it also makes a great photo opportunity to remember your visit!)
Want to grab a bite while you’re in town? Moxy is right around the corner serving up tapas and small plates. Ceres Bakery offers house made breads, sandwiches and baked goods! Napoletana Pizzaria is right down the street and great for slices, paninis and pastas. Want international flavor? Durbar Square is right across from SKORDO and a great spot for Nepalese!
If you need a coffee or sweet treat before your shopping or on your way out, our neighbors Cup of Joe and Elephantine Bakery are here! Our team leader in our new shop, Kayla, always makes Lovebirds' Donuts a stop. They have a wonderful rotating selection of vegan and gluten-free treats! Have you heard of Wild Valentine? It’s a flower shop meets coffee shop that’s just too cute.
Portsmouth holds a great space for music and the arts. Our SKORDO team members love live music, and find Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club, The Music Hall Lounge and The Press Room go-tos for live music and a bite. 3S Art Space over on Vaughn St. is a great location for both music and art in the city.
On the first Friday of every month the city hosts Art ‘Round Town when local galleries are open 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. We also love checking out Market Square Day at the start of every summer season, and the Prescott Park Arts Festival in the summer to get to know local artisans and makers!
