From curious customer to close friend and collaborator, we are so pleased to be working alongside Private Chef Amy Kayne. Her energy is explosive and her ideas are constantly inspiring our creative side. These days you can find Amy hosting "Cooking Parties" at the Makers Galley right here in Portland. The idea being an intimate, relaxed environment where guests can be as interactive (or not) as they'd like. She creates new menus each week, often highlighting SKORDO ingredients. The Portland Press Herald did a beautiful write up with her recipe at the end for Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema, Pepitas and Cabbage Slaw using Chile Lime Sea Salt + Adobo Spice Blend from the first Cooking Party. With her blended background of Italian + Lebanese influences, she is always opening peoples minds to new flavors. Throughout the remainder of the year, Amy is all over our state of Maine in various homes and venues with her team of chefs all working under her brand, 2gether Private Chefs.

This March, Amy is kicking off a Kid's Cooking Program, 4 kids by kids, where she'll teach elementary and middle school kids how to cook, taste, chop, and eventually host an entire dinner service. SKORDO will be making a guest appearance Week 1 to talk spices and flavors. Other guests include Illma Lopez of Chaval, Farmer Steph of Farm to Table Kids, Kate Shaffer of Ragged Coast Chocolates and The Maine Farm Table Cookbook, and Chef Gabby of Big Fish Cake Studio will all be sharing their knowledge with the little ones over 6 weeks. The freshly trained junior chefs will cook up 5 courses for a ticketed event that will benefit Full Plates, Full Potential.

Parents and kids interested in attending the class? A few Elementary and Middle School class openings are still available. Let's cook!

And if you ever get a chance to have a dinner cooked by Amy, I can almost guarantee you'll get a taste of her silky hummus. Some of her go-to toppings are:  Syrian Za'atar + Olive Oil
Spearmint, Olive Oil, Tomatoes

Aleppo Oil + Roasted Chickpeas
