Cardamom Pods - Green - Whole


Add green cardamom pods to just about anything and you have yourself an exotic, deeply flavored dish. The flavor is highly floral and minty with notes of herbal bitterness. They are often used in sweet dishes with somewhat sweet fruits such as apples (pie!) and grapes (mulled wine!). Remove outer shell and use inner seeds in baked dishes. Often used to flavor Indian curries, put the whole pod in your mixture and easily remove before serving. This spice is highly potent so be sure to use sparingly to start.
