Over the last few years, my husband and I have taken two trips to Africa. The first was our honeymoon in South Africa and the second was a family trip to Morocco with my dad and his wife. This morning we were dreaming of another trip to Kenya or Tanzania or Senegal.

In South Africa we started and ended in Cape Town. Over the course of three weeks, we visited Stellenbosch for wine and hiking. From there, we continued up the coast to Port Elizabeth, stopping for a few nights at the Tsitsikamma National Park. On our way back, we pulled into the Knysna Elephant Park on a whim and my heart exploded. Highlights of the trip included hiking Lion's Head, falling for Mungo Fabrics and enjoying endless bottles of local wine.

The trip to Morocco was a dream. In ten days we explored riads under restoration, explored souks, spent a few nights on the coast, and camped in the desert. In Marrakech we stayed at Palais Khum, a boutique hotel and spa steps away from the Medina. From there, we went to an AirBnB on the coast for a bit of surfing and seafood. Our desert plans changed last minute and we were lucky enough to find an opening at the Inara Camp. It featured the best food of the trip and extraordinary night sky viewing.
