Aleppo Chile Flakes

$8.00

Size

Aleppo Peppers have the perfect balance of heat and flavor. Complex, fruity, and earthy, they have a medium heat level that builds slowly. Used extensively in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, they are common in baba ghanoush, hummus, and tomato based stews.  The perfect companion for an avid griller, they are wonderful on burgers, kebabs, pork chops, chicken, and steaks. Proving their versatility, they are also delicious in desserts like brownies, hot cocoa, and spiced nuts because of their affinity with cinnamon.

deliciously versatile

I add these to salads, scrambled eggs, pizza, marinades, mac and cheese, you name it. A touch of heat and a lot of flavor. Far more complex and interesting than grocery-store red pepper flakes.

Different than typical chili flakes!

When one first opens the container and sniffs the contents, there are a couple of aromas. First, there is an almost a fruity scent, and then a smokey paprika-like scent. I prefer to use the chili flakes, as a finishing flavor. It works well with avocados, citrus fruits and adding an extra oomph to stews and salads.
