Szechuan Peppercorns
Szechuan Peppercorns aren't actually peppercorns at all. They are the outer layer of the fruit produced by an aromatic shrub native to the Central Province of China. Also know as Chinese Coriander, Szechuan Peppercorns are an essential ingredient in Chinese cuisine. They are very aromatic and flavorful without being hot, and quite unique in that they give a light tingling, numbing sensation when consumed. Szechuan Peppercorns are an essential ingredient in Chinese Five Spice and Kung Pao Chicken.
