Melty, savory, and made to share: these sliders are everything you want on game day. Juicy shaved steak, peppers and onions, and a rich beer cheese sauce come together, paired with our brand new Alehouse Blend for just the right balance of smoky, sweet, and bold flavor. Serve them up with your favorite Maine brew and settle in for a winning bite every time.
Ingredients
2 chopped bell peppers of your choice (we used red + green)
1 large white or yellow onion, chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp SKORDO Alehouse Rub
1lb shaved steak
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chopped peppers and onions
- Cook 4-6 minutes until softened
- Transfer to a plate
- In the same pan, heat olive oil over medium to medium heat
- Add the shaved steak and season with SKORDO Alehouse Blend, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for 7–8 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.
- Add a splash of water or broth for extra moisture (we recommend this method for tender, juicy steak)
 
Beer Cheese Ingredients
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk or cream
½ cup lager (we used Allagash)
½ tbsp SKORDO Alehouse Rub
2 cups shredded cheese (we used white cheddar for this recipe)
Beer Cheese Instructions
- Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat
- Add flour and whisk to form a roux. Cook for 30 seconds, whisking occasionally, then add beer
- Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes
- Stir in SKORDO Alehouse Blend
- Add cheese in small batches, stirring until melted and smooth
- Assemble the Sandwiches
- Layer the shaved steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and a spoonful of beer cheese onto each bun
