Kakomi Donabe - Black

The Donabe, a traditional Japanese clay pot, has long been the focal point for communal Japanese dining. With its virtually unlimited versatility, it can be used for various cooking methods such as steaming, simmering and stewing.

This heat-resistant ceramic pot tolerates a heat-temperature difference of 500 degrees celsius, and unlike the Kakomi Rice Cooker, it can be used on induction or halogen cooktops as well as gas. With a water absorption rate lower than that of standard clay pots, water will not seep into the pot, making it easy maintain, clean and prevent odors. The heating element on the bottom surface of the pot allows you to use it on induction cooktops and it has a multi-layered glass coating to prevent uneven heating or abnormal over-heating.

Heat resistant and ceramic.

Care: Safe to use on induction heater, direct fire, halogen heater and ceramic hob. Microwave and oven safe. Hand wash only. Dry well before use.
