Latin American cuisine covers a wide variety of cultures and territories spreading from Puerto Rico in the Caribbean down to Columbia in South America. Many meals in Latin America include maize, also known as corn, based ingredients such as tortillas, tamales and tacos.
These cuisines are also known for their condiments. Without them we wouldn’t have guacamole, pico de gallo, mole, or chimichurri. Some common seasonings in these cuisines are annatto, bay leaves, cilantro, cumin, garlic, and many many chiles. They love the heat!
